Nevada Green Rhythm – March 2021

The Nevada Green Party’s monthly newsletter for March 2021 is available now.

Of note this month:

Voter Count: The most important thing we can all do, is let our family, friends
and peers know the Green Party of Nevada is growing. In the last two years
we have increased our voter registration by 3,400+ and each day we are
gaining new members. Our count is at 7,500+ and growing. There are
2,009,696 registered voters in all parties as of January 2021. To gain ballot
access without petitions we need a 1% ratio of all registered voters. The
Green Party is currently at 20,090. This is attainable together.

It’s time we recognized the US Constitution…

It’s time we recognized the US Constitution for what it is: a document that enshrines the power of a political elite, masquerading as the founding of a democracy.

The Constitution itself furnishes sufficient evidence of that fact. It is not in any sense a democratic instrument, but in every sense a denial of democracy. The Declaration of Independence had been democratic and revolutionary; the Constitution, however, was autocratic and reactionary. Only six of the fifty-six signers of the declaration had a hand in framing the Constitution. Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and Samuel Adams were not in the convention. Jefferson bitterly opposed the Constitution as finally adopted, and Henry openly denounced it.

ICC opens door to prosecuting Israel for war crimes in Palestine

In a landmark decision, judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) say the body has jurisdiction over war crimes committed in Palestine, opening the door to possible criminal charges against Israel.

The ruling comes two years after the ICC’s chief prosecutor found that, “war crimes have been or are being committed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip”.

Please donate now to help chimps in need

This is Gordo. He’s a small guy who communicates the world with just his eyes. He was used in a biomedical research laboratory before being retired to a Los Angeles refuge that unexpectedly shut in 2019. He is receiving care in the interim, but our #ChimpsInNeed emergency fundraiser is working hard to rehome Gordo and his group to Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest as quickly as possible. If enough money is raised for the sanctuary to prepare for them, we can move ALL the remaining chimps this year! Plus, all donations are currently doubled right now thanks to an anonymous foundation. Learn more and help us help them at primatesanctuaries.org/chimps-in-need.
